by providing the opportunity for young people to question, explore and respond to the challenges of the Christian faith
... and with time, truth, grace and love.
Ashby Youth for Christ work with young people of all ages in Ashby and the surrounding area through churches, clubs, schools, detached work and mentoring.
When it started its main aim was to be a group catering for young Christians. As time went on it was realised that the organisation had more to offer young people not involved in church.
More recently it has moved forward, helping schools in practical ways through teaching on matters such as sex education, drug education, the environment, poverty and Christianity, helping young people to make informed decisions. Our committed team of Christians have a genuine personal interest in student welfare.
AYFC also works with young people out of schools, through detached and relational work, clubs which provide a positive environment for young people, residential trips and outdoor pursuit activities. The team engages young people in activities, which help build confidence, self-esteem, and encourages them to be responsible citizens, contributing positively to the world they live in.
As our work continues to expand we put great emphasis on encouraging and training volunteers, both adults and young people, to work alongside the team and seek ways in which we can work with the communities in our area.
