Summer camps for children and young people from Bosnia Herzegovina (BiH) have been running since the (1992-1995) war. This work of the Bosnian Church, helped by the Church in other countries, has increased and evolved to include youth clubs and events in a number of places throughout the country.

Though the most recent war is "officially" over, huge problems remain: landmines, huge unemployment, brain-drain and ethnic tensions are just some of the issues that depress the people of this beautiful area.

Over the past few summers, outdoor activity sessions have been led by short-term workers from the UK. We've been part of these teams. We hope to bring help and hope to the young people of BiH by increasing the use of outdoor activities alongside the work of NoviMost International to achieve the following:

1 Relational youth work
2 Employment training and creation – equip local young people to be outdoor professionals
3 Tourism links with the UK – top holidays for folk from the UK and income for BiH

Routes towards achieving these aims:

+ The recruitment of someone (qualified and experienced from UK) to develop outdoor activities youth work alongside NoviMost youth workers in BiH.
+ Organised trips from UK for climbers and paddlers to raise UK support and awareness.
+ Beginning training young people in BiH who show an interest in outdoor activities in the hope of recruiting and employing them later.
+ Establishing base(s) to which gear can be shipped.
